Piercing Rings
There are many different types of piercing rings, each with its own advantages and disadvantages. The best type of ring for you will depend on the type of piercing you have and your personal preferences. Here are some of the most common types of piercing rings:
- Captive Bead Ring (CBR): A CBR (also known as a BCR - Ball Closure Ring) is a simple ring with a small bead that fits into a groove in the ring itself. The bead is held in place by tension, and can be difficult to remove or insert. CBRs are a good choice for piercings that are well-healed and don't move around a lot, such as earlobes or helix piercings.
- Segment Ring: A segment ring has a hinged segment that allows the ring to be opened and closed. This makes it easy to insert and remove, which is important for new piercings that are still healing. Segment rings are also a good choice for piercings that are in difficult-to-reach places, such as the septum or nostril.
- Clicker Ring: A clicker ring is similar to a segment ring, but it has a small clasp that clicks shut to keep the ring closed. Clicker rings are easy to use and stay securely in place. They are a good choice for a variety of piercings, including eyebrow piercings, lip piercings, and nostril piercings.
- Seamless Ring: A seamless ring is a simple ring that has no clasp or closure. It is inserted by gently twisting the ends of the ring open and closed. Seamless rings are difficult to remove, so they are not a good choice for new piercings. However, they are a good choice for well-healed piercings that you don't plan on removing often.
